Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as nose filler and liquid nose job, is a non-invasive aesthetic treatment that has gained significant popularity in recent years. This procedure allows nose re-shaping by getting rid of the bump in the nose with zero scarring and minimal downtime, resulting in a straighter more defined nose appearance.
How does the non-surgical nose job work?
At Novomed, hyaluronic acid fillers are used in the form of Juvéderm and Restylane. Our specialist dermatologist uses dermal filler above and below the bridge of the nose, filling in areas which are curved inwards with filler. By inserting filler in the decompressed areas of the nose, the filler will lift the skin aligning the curved part of the nose to the bridge of the nose creating a smoother straight nose. Filler can also be injected around the nose tip, lifting the tip creating a slimmer and refined look and it can be used to correct birth defects. The procedure is used to make the nose look smaller by adding height and definition to the nasal bridge. However, it can’t be used to correct any functional defects, in such cases traditional rhinoplasty is recommended.
How is the procedure performed?
Our specialist dermatologist will apply a numbing cream onto the nose then the filler injecting will begin. A thin tiny needle is used to inject hyaluronic acid filler into the area it is needed. The filler is injected in small amounts which is molded into place, more filler is inserted if required to achieve the desired result. The full non-surgical nose procedure takes between 15-20 minutes.
What is the recovery process?
There is minimal downtime for this procedure. Immediately after the treatment, there may be some swelling, redness and bruising which is temporary and disappears in a few days. It is advised not to touch the nose or wear eyeglasses following the nose as the filler is still malleable and pressure from wearing glasses could alter the filler enhancement. The majority of patients can return to their day-to-day activities immediately post-treatment.
What are the risks involved?
Enhancing the nose with fillers is a highly complex technique which is not without risk, there are important blood vessels in the nose and any accidental obstruction can have serious side effects such as necrosis (death of cells, tissues or failure of blood supply). At Novomed we offer a team of highly skilled dermatologists to carry out such procedures with precision and care.
How much does the procedure costs?
The price of non-surgical rhinoplasty is unique to each patient, it is dependent on the patient’s nose shape, the deficiency that needs to be filled and the amount of filler required. Once this has been assessed a price is determined.
What are the results?
The results are visible immediately after the procedure, a straighter, smoother, sharper nose is noticeable boosting self-esteem and improving facial symmetry.
How long do the results last?
Unlike surgical rhinoplasty, non-surgical rhinoplasty results are temporary and last as long as the filler does. The fillers generally last between 6-12months as dermal fillers are dissolved by the body over time, the speed at which they are dissipated varies from person to person. A touch-up treatment may be required to achieve optimal correction. Repeat treatment is often preferred by many to maintain the desired effect
