Breast Augmentation Surgery in Dubai and Al Ain
What is breast augmentation surgery?
Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammaplasty or boob job, is a procedure that involves the use of implants or fat transfers to increase the size of the breasts. This procedure helps restore the lost volume in the breast after losing excess weight or pregnancy and gives the breasts a more rounded and symmetrical look.
We offer many options for breast augmentation in Dubai and Al Ain. The augmentation can be completed with implantations, fat transfer or both. The procedure can be done with or without a breast lift. The implants can be placed beneath the muscle below the gland, dual-plane or sub-fascial.
What are the benefits of breast augmentation surgery?
- Improves the volume and protrusion of the breasts.
- Increases the symmetry between the breast area and the hips.
- Promotes self-confidence and satisfaction with body image.
- Restores breasts symmetry if one breast is smaller than the other.
Breast implants can also be used to reconstruct the breast after a mastectomy or injury.
Am I a suitable candidate for breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a procedure that depends on your personal convictions and is performed for purely cosmetic reasons.
Our plastic surgeon will discuss whether you are a good candidate for breast augmentation and what type of breast augmentation is right for you. Here are the most common signs breast augmentation is right for you:
- You are physically healthy and not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have realistic expectations.
- Your breasts are fully developed.
- You are not satisfied with the small size of your breasts.
- You are unhappy with the appearance of your breasts due to the loss of shape and size after pregnancy, weight loss or aging.
- You are unhappy with the upper part of your breasts that appears “empty.”
- Your breasts are asymmetrical.
If you are considering this surgery, spend some time reviewing before & after pictures o and find out what to expect during recovery. Preparing early helps patients have reasonable expectations and a smoother recovery.
What are the types of implants?
Silicone gel-filled breast implants or cohesive gel silicone gel-filled breast implants are filled with elastic, soft gel. They are pre-filled and require a slightly longer incision than saline-filled implants. Cohesive gel silicone gel-filled implants have been used since 1992 and were approved by the FDA in 2012.
Saline-filled implants may be pre-filled to a predetermined size or filled at the time of the procedure. They are filled with sterile salt water. We offer saline-filled breast implants and structured saline-filled breast implants. Structured saline-filled breast implants were approved by Health Canada and the FDA in 2014.

What to expect during the consultation for breast augmentation?
The surgeon will discuss the following points during your breast augmentation consultation to ensure that the surgery is right for you and give you a good idea of the surgery and the recovery period after it:
- Why you want breast augmentation surgery, and what are your expectations and results you want to get.
- Your current medical conditions and drug allergies.
- Your current medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
- Smoking and drinking alcohol.
- Having a family history of breast cancer and the results of any previous mammograms or biopsies.
The plastic surgeon will also:
- Assess your general health and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors.
- Examine your breasts and take detailed measurements of their size, shape, skin condition, and position of the nipples and areola.
- Take reference photos.
- Discuss your options and recommend a treatment plan for your recovery.
- Discuss the potential outcomes of breast augmentation and any potential risks or complications.
Consultation is the best time to ask your plastic surgeon about any concerns you have. It is necessary to understand all aspects of breast augmentation surgery, and it’s normal to be nervous about it. Whether you are excited about your new look or feel afraid before surgery, do not be shy about discussing these feelings with your plastic surgeon.
How to prepare for breast augmentation surgery?
When preparing for breast augmentation, you may be asked to:
- Do some blood tests.
- Take certain medications or adjust the use of your current medications.
- Stop smoking.
- Avoid taking aspirin and some anti-inflammatory drugs because they may increase bleeding.
- Ask a friend or family member to drive you home after surgery and stay with you for the first night after surgery.
How is breast augmentation surgery performed?
After preparing you for surgery and giving you the appropriate medications, the anesthesiologist will administer a general anesthetic and then the surgeon will make an incision in the armpit area so as not to leave any scars on the breast. After that, they will insert the implant into a pocket under the pectoralis muscle or directly behind the breast tissue above the pectoralis muscle. The method of insertion and placement of the implant depends on the type of implant used, the desired level of augmentation, body type, and the surgeon’s recommendations.
After inserting the implant and making sure it is in the proper position, the surgeon will close the incision using sutures or medical tape. The incision mark will become less visible over time, and its location under the arm will keep it hidden.
What happens after breast augmentation surgery?
You will be taken to the recovery area immediately after surgery to monitor your condition and ensure there are no complications. After making sure everything is normal and your condition is stable, you should be able to go home, usually after an hour or so.
Before leaving the hospital, you will be given specific instructions for your recovery period after breast augmentation surgery, and a follow-up appointment with your plastic surgeon will be scheduled. The surgeon will prescribe some medications to improve the healing process, including pain relievers and antibiotics.
During the recovery period, your breasts will be wrapped in gauze bandages and an elastic bandage or supporting bra will reduce swelling and support the breasts as they heal. A supporting garment (bra or elastic bandage) must be worn around the clock as instructed by your plastic surgeon.
Since it is possible to bleed into the pockets around breast implants in the early days, you should wait until you get permission from your plastic surgeon to increase your activity level. Acute pain usually subsides after one to five days, but you may have mild pain and swelling for a few weeks.
What results can be expected after breast augmentation surgery?
Although breast augmentation gives immediate results, the final results may take a few weeks for the swelling to subside and the skin to stretch. Some patients may need to wear a supporting bra to help shape their breasts, especially if they have a pre-existing asymmetry or small breasts. Incision marks may take several months to fade.
Breast augmentations are a long-term solution for achieving your ideal figure. You will look better in swimwear and clothes and feel better about yourself. You will have a more youthful-looking figure, and your new appearance will change your outlook on life for the better. However, implants will not last a lifetime. Eventually, they will need to be replaced.
