- Someone who has lost fat in their buttocks (saggy buttocks)
- Undesirable or flat buttocks
- Ideal candidates are patients who want liposuction at the same time
Procedure Most of the lifting is carried out indirectly by removing the undesirable fat in the lower back. Liposuction of the back area is crucial since it creates a slope leading to the buttocks, which gives the patient a projected behind. The fat is then re-injected into the buttocks via tiny hidden incisions and massaged and conformed to adjust the overall size of the buttocks. The procedure also consists of the careful liposuction of fat from a number of areas (including the abdomen, back and thighs), purification of the fat and injection of the fat into the buttocks to increase the volume.
Discomfort during the procedure None. This procedure is best performed under general anesthesia.
Downtime Patients should stay off of their buttocks for two weeks following the procedure in order to prevent pressure from compromising the transferred fat. The first day following the procedure will be moderately uncomfortable. On days 2-5, tenderness will rapidly resolve. The patient may be able to return to their regular exercise regimen after 6-8 weeks.
Cost Depends on the extent of the desired liposuction accompanying the Brazilian Butt lift.
Compared to other buttock augmentations, this particular procedure is popular because it only requires small incisions in order to achieve a fuller rear.
You can expect the results of a Brazilian butt lift to last for up to several years, and perhaps even several decades depending on how well you treat your buttocks during the recovery process.
