Dr Donagh O’Riordan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist. He qualified with his MB, BCh and BAO from Trinity College Dublin in 1984, MRCP (Ire) 1988, MD 1998 and FRCP in 2008. After qualifying, he completed Senior House Officer training and gained membership of the College of Physicians in Dublin.
He moved to England in 1990 and, after further posts in oncology and gastroenterology, undertook research on cellular aspects of iron absorption in the Royal Free Hospital leading to an MD from the University of Dublin (Trinity) in 1998. He completed his SpR training in the North East Thames rotation with posts in UCH/Middlesex, Oldchurch Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital. He received his training in therapeutic ERCP from renowned endoscopic pioneer Adrian Hatfield and in endoscopic stenting and laser treatment from well-known expert Professor Stephen Bown.
