Dr. Helge Schmitz is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon with an extensive international career specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee. After graduating from Deutschordengymnasium in 1989, he pursued his medical degree at the Julius-Maximilians University in Wuerzburg. His foundational surgical training includes tenures at the University of Wuerzburg’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the University of Duesseldorf, where he focused on general, trauma and orthopedic surgery.
Throughout his career in Germany, Dr. Schmitz held several leadership positions, notably serving as the head of Arthroscopic Surgery at Krankenhaus Salem in Heidelberg and the Head of Shoulder Surgery at the Fontana Clinic in Freiburg. His clinical practice is defined by a holistic approach to the musculoskeletal system, incorporating manual orthopedic medicine, chirotherapy, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy alongside his surgical expertise.
