Doctor's Bio

Dr. Issam Mardini is a highly experienced and skilled orthopedic specialist with over 20 years of experience in the field. He obtained his M.B.Ch.B. degree from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, after completing six years of study. He also holds an AFS Degree of High Specialty Formation in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the University of Grenoble-France, which he obtained in October 1993.

Dr. Issam has additional qualifications in sport traumatology and related pathology, as well as hand and upper limb surgery, which he obtained from the University of Grenoble and the University of Paris 6, Faculty of Medicine Saint Antoine, respectively. He also completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA, in July 1995. Moreover, he had special internship training in spine surgery in Germany in 2003.

Dr. Issam has extensive experience in orthopedics and traumatology. He started his career as an intern at Alexandria University in 1984-1985 and then worked as a house officer in general surgery and emergency department for two years. He continued his career as a resident in orthopedics-trauma unit in Rashid Hospital, Dubai, for four years from 1987 to 1990.

Dr. Issam then spent around three years working as a foreign assistant in several orthopedic-trauma centers in France, where he gained expertise in different specialties. He spent nine months in the emergency and sport trauma center (Hospital-Sud) Grenoble, France, specialized in all knee and shoulder surgeries with Professor SARAGAGLIA. He spent nine months in orthopedics and reconstructive surgery (Hopital Avicenne), Paris, specialized in spine surgeries and working with Professor MASCQULET team. For reconstructive surgeries, he spent three months in the French Institute of Hand Surgery, Paris, specialized for hand surgeries, and six months in the Dep. of Orthopedics and Pediatric Ortho., Hopital D’EVRY, Paris, with Professor GAVARD. Dr. Issam also attended an intensive training in spine surgery in Germany with Professor H. Gluch.Vogatreutch.

After moving to Dubai, Dr. Issam worked as an orthopedic and hand surgeon at a number of prestigious hospitals, where he treated a wide range of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries. He served as the official sport injury doctor for several local, national, and international tournaments, including the 2nd ATP Tour World Series “Dubai Tennis Open,” the “Davis Cup Tournament” (Third Division) – Tennis held in Dubai in 1995, and the GCC Basket Ball tournament held in Dubai,1995. He was also the official trauma and disaster co-coordinator for Dubai 2000 International Aerospace Exhibition.

Dr. Issam is a member of the GCC Orthopedic Association and the Pan Arab Orthopedic Association. He was also a previous team doctor for Al Wasel Club first football team. In recognition of his contributions to the field of orthopedic surgery, Dr. Issam was selected as a member of the International WHO of professionals for the year 2000. He has published and presented many papers in many conferences around the world in the field of orthopedic surgery.
