Dr Sonia Amoros is a Spanish-Board Ophthalmologist, with more than 20 years of experience in Cataract and LASIK surgery.
Dr Sonia graduated with a Degree in Medicine from Alcalá University, Madrid (Spain) in 1993. Then, she did her medical speciality in Ophthalmology (MIR) in Hospital Ramón y Cajal in Madrid, graduating in 1998.
Dr Sonia worked since 1991 until 2018 at Clínica Baviera Instituto Oftalmológico Europeo, at Spain. She is expert in Refractive and Cataract Surgery, having performed more than 16.000 surgeries throughout her career (LASIK, LASEK, PRK, Cataract surgery, and Monofocal and Multifocal Intraocular Lens Implantation for the correction of Presbyopia).
She has published several papers for scientific journals, like the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and she has written book chapters about Paediatric Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery.
Dr Sonia has been collaborating since 1999 with Surgical Eye Expeditions International (Santa Barbara, California), performing cataract charity surgeries in developing areas of India, Africa and South America.
