Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is Peyronie’s Disease, and can it be treated?
Peyronie’s Disease is an acquired condition affecting the penis, characterized by the formation of a hard fibrous scar tissue called a plaque beneath the penile skin. This scar tissue is inflexible and accumulates in the tunica albuginea, a thick and elastic membrane that surrounds the corpora cavernosa of the penis. During an erection, the healthy tissues stretch, while the area with the plaque remains rigid and cannot expand.
It can be treated to manage its symptoms, improve the appearance of the penis, and restore its function. The choice of treatment depends on the stage of the disease (acute or chronic), the severity of the curvature, and associated symptoms.

2. How does advanced sperm retrieval from the testes using microsurgery (Micro-TESE) help treat infertility?
Microsurgical Testicular Sperm Extraction is an advanced and effective surgical procedure for treating severe male infertility, especially in men with Non-Obstructive Azoospermia (NOA), where no sperm is present in the ejaculate due to a problem with sperm production.
This technique works by using a high-powered surgical microscope to increase the chances of finding sperm while minimizing damage to the testicular tissue.

3. What are the benefits of Penile Vibratory Stimulation – PVS?
Penile Vibratory Stimulation – PVS is a non-surgical medical procedure primarily used for:
● Inducing ejaculation (sperm retrieval): This is the most common and effective use, especially for men with anejaculation, often resulting from spinal cord injuries, diabetes, or certain medications.
● Treating erectile dysfunction (in some cases): Vibration can help stimulate nerves and improve erectile function and blood flow to the penis.

4. When should medical help be sought for testicular pain?
Any testicular pain should be taken seriously, but urgent medical attention is required immediately if you experience:
● Sudden and severe testicular pain.
● Pain accompanied by sudden swelling or redness of the scrotum.
● Pain accompanied by nausea, vomiting, or fever.
Acute pain is the main warning sign of testicular torsion, a critical condition that requires intervention within 6 hours to save the testicle. For mild or chronic pain, consult a urologist to evaluate the condition and determine the appropriate treatment.

5. Is Erectile Dysfunction – ED treatable?
Erectile Dysfunction, sometimes referred to as sexual impotence, is the persistent or recurrent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. This condition is very common and becomes more likely with age, but it is not a natural part of aging and should be treated.
The good news is that ED is treatable in most cases. Treatment usually begins by identifying the underlying cause through consultation with a urologist or a specialist in male sexual health.
