This procedure is also known as a pubic lift, a surgical procedure used to reduce and lift the Mons Pubis (the fatty area above the genital area). The additional bulge can result in women feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed to wear particular type of clothing. The purpose of Monsplasty is to reduce the amount of fatty tissue and/or skin depending on the cause of the bulge or degree of sagginess.
How is surgery conducted?
A horizontal incision is made at the upper edge of the pubic region just below the navel. The underlying muscles are gently raised and tightened to create a firm, defined pubic area. Excess skin is then removed, and pubic skin is raised into its newer position. Dissolvable stitches are then used to close the incision.
