What We Treat

Breast Lift Surgery (Mastopexy) in Abu Dhabi

Do you have droopy or sagging breasts that make you self-conscious about your appearance? It is normal for breasts to become smaller, less symmetrical, and less firm because of gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss, and other factors.

Mastopexy, or breast lift surgery, is the best way to achieve breasts that look fuller, realign them on your body, and boost your self-confidence. This procedure reshapes the breasts and returns them to their more youthful position and shape by eliminating excess skin, tightening breast tissue, and relocating the areola. The breast lift produces a natural appearance that complements the patient’s size and body.

Novomed has a team of prominent plastic surgeons in Abu Dhabi who can help you enhance the size and shape of your breasts and give you a more uplifted appearance. They will provide you with the best care and outcome using advanced technology and the most cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments.

What advantages do breast lift procedures offer?

The breast lift has many advantages, including:

  • Making breasts perkier and more elevated.
  • Improving the symptoms of sagging breasts, such as redness and rashes.
  • Repositioning and reshaping the areola, improving its appearance.
  • Boosting confidence and self-esteem.
  • Making it possible to wear dresses without a bra.

Am I a good candidate for this procedure?

You may want to consider this cosmetic procedure if you are aiming for a firmer, younger appearance, want to increase symmetry in your breasts and nipples, and have reasonable expectations for the results of the surgery. Suitable candidates for this procedure include those who are 18 years old, have a stable weight, and are in good physical and mental health. Breast lifts may be beneficial for patients whose breasts appear deflated following significant weight reduction or have become flat following breastfeeding and pregnancy.

What to expect before the procedure?

Novomed plastic surgeons in Abu Dhabi initially consult with patients and examine their breasts and skin elasticity. They will go over your alternatives and make sure you have reasonable expectations going into the procedure.

To provide you with the best results, we offer a variety of breast lift techniques.

  • Anchor lift: Making an inverted “T”-shaped incision from the area around the areola to the breast crease is required.
  • Crescent lift: This technique involves making a crescent-shaped incision at the top of the nipple.
  • Periareolar lift: To remove the tissue surrounding the areola with this technique, the surgeon creates an incision that resembles a doughnut.
  • Lollipop lift: With this technique, an incision is made vertically from the areola line downward.

What happens during the procedure?

The breast lift procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes roughly two hours to complete. The surgery could take longer if you wish to combine it with a breast augmentation or reduction to get the desired appearance.

The plastic surgeon will first make an incision according to the technique they have chosen to remove excess skin, remodel the breast tissue, and lift the nipple to a higher position.

To prevent the weight of your breasts from straining on your healing wounds, our surgeon will use sutures to cover the incisions when the procedure is complete and wrap your breasts in a supporting garment or a special bra.

What happens after the procedure?

You will be taken to the recovery room to rest after surgery until the anesthesia wears off. The doctor will prescribe painkillers to ease any discomfort you may be experiencing. Draining tubes may be inserted close to your incision to remove any excess fluid, and they will be taken out once the blood or fluid stops draining, which is usually just before leaving the hospital.

You will be sent home with instructions on how to care for your wounds and breasts and what to do and what not to do as you heal. For the first 24 hours following your surgery, you will need a friend or family member to drive you home and stay with you.

What will happen during recovery following breast lift surgery?

You should expect to recover fully from surgery by taking it easy and getting plenty of rest. Your breasts will feel stiff and swollen and appear discolored after the procedure, but you can take over-the-counter pain relievers if you experience any pain or discomfort.

Following breast lift surgery, you will need to take two to three weeks off work, refrain from lifting anything heavy for several weeks, and avoid sexual activity for two weeks. After two weeks, you will be allowed to do some light exercise and other activities, and you can resume your regular activities after six weeks.

You should contact your doctor if:

  • Your wound hurts.
  • Your wound feels hot and swollen.
  • Your wound appears red or begins to produce pus.
  • Your body temperature is elevated.

Surgical sutures that are soluble will fall out after a few days. Ten to fourteen days after surgery, non-dissolvable stitches that you may have will be taken out.

When will I be able to see the result?

The results of the mastopexy procedure should be visible right away, and they will get better over the next three to six months as the wounds heal and the swelling goes down. Your breast lift surgery results will progressively get softer, more youthful, and more natural-looking over the first six months. If you follow a healthy lifestyle, the results of your breast lift surgery can be long-lasting.
