Endoscopic Brow Lift in Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain

A brow lift is a cosmetic surgical technique that corrects the loss of flexibility in the upper third of the face’s soft tissues. This surgery removes sagging skin around the forehead that causes drooping (ptosis) brows by restructuring the supporting muscle and tissue underneath.

Endoscopy involves inserting a camera and surgical tools attached to a flexible tube through a small incision to perform a range of reconstructive and cosmetic surgical treatments.

The endoscopic brow lift is minimally invasive and will offer the same effective results as an open coronal brow lift but with a shorter recovery period and no detectable scarring. Our board-certified plastic surgeons make small incisions behind the hairline using a piece of fiber-optic equipment with a micro camera to perform the procedure.

Endoscopic brow lift candidates

You may be considered for this procedure if you have deep forehead furrows or frown lines, a sagging or heavy brow, eyelid asymmetry, or furrow lines over the nose. It is not advised for women with high hairline, bald men, or those with a history of male pattern baldness to undergo an endoscopic brow lift.

This surgery may be considered medically required if there are indications of visual impairment due to the brow positioning.

What happens during the consultation?

You will work with the best plastic surgeons in Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain at Novomed! The doctor will require details about your medical history at your first brow lift appointment to see whether having surgery might carry any potential risks. Additionally, the board-certified surgeon will perform a physical assessment of your face to determine the suitable treatment approach that meets your needs.

Furthermore, you will receive advice on possible results to ensure you have reasonable and realistic expectations.

How to prepare for an endoscopic brow lift?

Smokers will be asked to stop using cigarettes several weeks before surgery since it can decrease blood flow and hinder recovery  post surgery. You may also be instructed to avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications due to the potential risks of bleeding.

Patients must adhere to a 7-hour fast (no food, liquids, cigarettes, or gum). It is also crucial to avoid applying creams or wearing makeup on the day of surgery.

Patients are advised to plan for transportation home after surgery to avoid possible sedation risks.

What to expect during an endoscopic brow lift?

Your surgeon will start by making three or five small incisions on the scalp behind your hairline. A surgical telescope (endoscope) is then inserted through the incisions to project your underlying muscles and tissues on a digital screen so the surgeon can see where to operate.

The treatment area will be lifted to the desired position with undetectable sutures or temporary clips.

Endoscopic brow lift recovery

After surgery, bruising and swelling are expected, and you’ll be required to take between 1-2 weeks off work to rest appropriately and recover. You may manage swelling by sleeping in an upright position with two to three pillows for the first week and applying ice packs carefully to the treatment area.

You will be instructed not to shower for the first twenty-four hours post-operation. You may shower afterward, but beware of keeping the surgery site perfectly dry to prevent infection-causing bacteria from developing. Patients are also advised to dry the scalp, hair, and face by gently patting with a soft towel rather than massaging.

Stitches or staples will be removed ten days following surgery, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled to check your progress and ensure adequate healing.

How long does the result of endoscopic brow lift last?

endoscopic brow lift results are long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing, natural-looking, and with no alteration to the hairline. The endoscopic brow lift, like all cosmetic surgical procedures, is affected by aging, the sun, and gravity. Results typically last between 5 and 10 years on average.
