About this system

The Cellfina system is the only FDA-approved minimally invasive procedure to improve the appearance of cellulite. When the treated skin is released from the tight bands, it bounces back to smooth itself back within three days. Cellfina is a one-time cellulite treatment and can be performed at the doctor’s office in less than one hour. This procedure can help patients restore the smooth and healthy look of their skin helps and give them the confidence to wear a bathing suit or short skirts.

Who is a suitable candidate for Cellfina treatment?

Good candidates for Cellfina include those who:

  • Are between 20 and 60.
  • have visible cellulite on their thighs or buttock.
  • have a stable weight.
  • have minimal skin laxity.

How does this treatment work?

Cellfina targets the fibrous bands that cause cellulite dimples in the skin. When the fibrous bands pull some skin in, they cause the surrounding fat to bulge and create small depressions or cellulite dimples throughout the affected area.

Cellfina system is based on a procedure called subcision. This technology uses a device the size of a needle to treat the connective fibrous bands under the skin.

Before the procedure, the doctor will use a marker to identify the cellulite dimples. Then, they will administer a numbing solution and use the Cellfina handheld device to insert a microneedle below the skin. The doctor will then use the subcision technique in a fanning motion to release the fibrous bands under the skin, causing the cellulite dimples to bounce back.

During the treatment, you may feel some suction, but there shouldn’t be any discomfort during the process. After the treatment, you may experience some bruising, soreness and tenderness in the treated area. However, these side effects usually go way within few days without any medications.

The treatment takes about one hour, and the results can be seen within three days and can last up to three years.
